  • Day 1:Arrive Arusha in Tanzania

    On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) you will be Meeting and greeted by company representative

    On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) you will be Meeting and greeted by company representative from Matukio Safaris and assist you with your luggage and escort you to the car, then drive to Arusha town for overnight stay.

  • Day 2: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

    After Breakfast ride in a specially designed, open-top safari vehicles to Tarangire National Park, which boasts one

    After Breakfast around 08:30 we leave Arusha town and drive for two hours to Lake Manyara National Park.

    We arrive in time for lunch at the lodge and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara National Park is one of Tanzania's most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) at the foot of the Great Rift Valley's western escarpment. The park's varied habitat attracts a wide variety of African animals, including one of Africa's largest concentrations of elephants, Manyara's famous tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos, attracted by the algae in the lake.

  • Day 3: Lake Manyara to Lake Natron

    After breakfast we will drive to the Lake Natron, we will drive through very remote areas of northern Tanzania.

    Distance: 131 km

    After breakfast we will drive to the Lake Natron, we will drive through very remote areas of northern Tanzania. This area is extremely dry and dotted with local villages along the route and contains some of the most amazing scenery in Tanzania. Your driver will tell you about Tanzania village life and point out landscape features. If the skies are clear it is possible to see Mount Ol donyo lengai, Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro on route to your Tented Camp. Lake Natron is salt lake and is fed by local rivers and natural hot springs and it extremely mineral rich. The lake is shallow reaching depths of no more than 3 meters. The lake is an important breeding ground for East African greater and lesser flamingos.

    Lake Natron has a surface area of around 1300sqm and it has no natural drainage so all water lose if by evaporation. The Lake is highly alkaline with high level of soda and magnesium due to the volcanic rock. At Lake Natron you will embark on a walk (or drive) depending on your preference to the Lake Edge, the guide will explain more at the area and local flamingos.

    Other activities at Lake Natron, visiting the local waterfalls, you will take a short drive to the stream leading from the falls, then walk to the base of the waterfalls, here you are able to swim in the cool refreshing waters.

  • Day 4: Lake Natron – Serengeti National Park

    After breakfast departs for Serengeti National Park through northern Natron to the Lobo gate of the Serengeti.

    Distance: 135 km

    After breakfast departs for Serengeti National Park through northern Natron to the Lobo gate of the Serengeti. Once we arrive at the Serengeti gate there will be a short stop, and we will then enter the land of the endless plains and start the first game drive in the Serengeti on the way to the Tented Camp, Serengeti National Park is one of the richest wildlife habitats in Africa.

  • Day 5:Full day game drive in the Serengeti Plains

    Be one of only a few fortunate people to glide in a Hot Air Balloon over the Serengeti Plains (available at supplementary cost by pre-arrangement). Floating silently above the awakening bush, while spotting wildlife and enjoying the amazing scenery of Africa, across rivers and over numerous small villages.

    We do an after breakfast game viewing drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River, and which is good for possible Lion, Thomson gazelle, topi, ostrich and cheetah sightings. The Visitor Centre is well worth a visit after the morning’s game drive. This nicely designed centre offers some interesting wildlife displays as well as a gift shop selling information leaflets and maps of the area. The centre also has a shop where cold drinks and snacks can be purchased, as well as a picnic area and information trail up and around a nearby kopje. We will enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch at the centre in the shade of the giant acacia trees.

    In the afternoon we will follow the Kopjes Circuit, which goes anti-clockwise around the Maasai Kopjes, which usually attract a number of lion and some formidably large cobras. Kopjes are weathered granite outcrops, scattered around the plains, most of which are miniature ecosystems, providing shade and drinking water in pools left in the rock after the rains. This makes the kopjes particularly good for spotting wildlife in the dry seasons – including lions, which like to lie in wait for animals coming to drink!

  • Day 6: Serengeti Plains – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

    After breakfast at the lodge do we depart to Ngorongoro Conservation area with picnic lunch, game drive on the way.

    Travel time: 4 hours
    Distance: 145 km

    After breakfast at the lodge do we depart to Ngorongoro Conservation area with picnic lunch, game drive on the way. We will stopover at Olduvai Gorge, boasting with a history dating back to the dawn of time. It was here, that the anthropologists Drs. Lois and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of ‘Nutcracker Man’ and ‘Handy Man’, both very significant links in the chain of human evolution. Optional you also have the possibility of visiting a Masai village.

    The Ngorongoro National Park supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park, is it’s dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot.

  • Day 7: Wildlife in Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha town

    Today you will have a day room at the hotel or you will be transferred to the airport

    Distance: 190 km

    After Breakfast head to the heart of Ngorongoro Crater, one of the largest calderas in the world, which contains a variety of ecosystems and an astounding concentration of birds and animals. Encounter massive herds of zebra, wildebeest, and gazelles. This area affords an opportunity to spot the Big Five, which includes African elephant, leopard, lion, buffalo, and the rare black rhinoceros. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater and then evening drive back to Arusha for dinner and overnight stay.

  • Day 8: Journey home

    Today transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home. Tour ends at Kilimanjaro International Airport.
