Itinerary Details

  • Day 1: Drive to Kilimanjaro National Park Shira Gate, Hike to Shira 2 Camp

    After a 3-hour drive from Moshi, we begin the hike at Shira Gate.

    After a 3-hour drive from Moshi, we begin the hike at Shira Gate. The trail winds through lush rainforest with some muddy and slippery sections. Ascend gradually to Shira 2 Camp at 3850m, a perfect spot for acclimatization. The hike is moderate, and you’ll enjoy stunning views along the way.

  • Day 2: Hike Shira 2 Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

  • Day 3: Hike Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

    The day starts with a steep climb up the Barranco Wall, offering panoramic views of the valley below.

  • Day 5: Hike Barafu Camp to Summit, Down to Mweka Camp

    Starting early, ascend through scree to Stella Point, and then to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.

After reaching the peak, descend to Mweka Camp for the night, passing Barafu for lunch. The day is physically demanding but incredibly rewarding.

  • Day 6: Hike Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate, Drive Back to Moshi

    Descend from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate, where your Kilimanjaro trek ends.

    Descend from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate, where your Kilimanjaro trek ends. After completing the challenging hike, enjoy a celebratory atmosphere as you return to Moshi. The descent takes you through lush forest areas, and you’ll enjoy the satisfaction of completing this monumental journey.
